One of my favorite parts of my trip to Sydney was waking up early to do yoga at the legendary Bondi Icebergs swim club. My only purpose for scheduling a 6:30 session was that, with my somewhat packed itinerary, I did not want to have to venture to Bondi twice. Best decision of my trip.
Nothing pleased my eyes and my soul as much as watching the sunrise over the Tasman Sea, while simultaneously listening to the waves splash up and into the pool.
My pint-sized instructor was motivating and amusing, and she was exactly as I pictured a seaside yogi to be. I also loved how she was one of the thousands of beautiful people that I met who didn’t possess an ounce of arrogance. I loved how down to earth the Aussies were.
I left my session feeling energized, renewed, and ready for my surfing lesson. I may return to Sydney just to relive this experience, and maybe next time I’ll actually get to swim in this legendary ocean pool.
Yoga by the Sea also holds classes at Tamarama and Bronte Surf Clubs, and even at the Seaside Aquarium. For more information, feel free to visit their website: Yoga by the Sea
