Rittenhouse Row Festival 2016

It’s festival season yet again in Philly. The dreary weather was not keeping me away from my favorite foodie fest. Here are some of the highlights from my stroll down Walnut Street for the Rittenhouse Row Spring Festival:

Sales galore at most of the shops on Walnut Street

My seersucker from Butcher and Singer

Yummy crab cake

A long line to sample whiskey

Termini Bros cannolis

I also tried acupuncture for the first time with Healing Arts Acupuncture Center. It isn’t something I ever saw myself trying (severe fear of needles), but I’d be silly to not take advantage of a free 5-7 minute session. The acupuncturist inserted five needles-one in my scalp, one in each ear, and one in each hand-in the space between my thumb and index finger.

It takes three years of school to become an acupuncturist. And lots of patience to stick someone like me

The acupuncturist gave a few taps to secure the pins, and each insertion was more of an annoyance than actual pain. Hurry and check out my Snapchat (ajourneytofit) or my Instagram (@sweettnyc) for footage of me getting stuck.

Less than ten minutes after inserting the pins, I felt noticeably more calm, and it increased as I continued my stroll through the festival. I think that calmness also eased my compulsion to shop. So I only bought one cross body from South Moon Under.

I bought the black cross body in the back. May go back for the mint

I am so glad, though, that the rain did not spoil my fun. Now let’s hope it’s dry for the Italian Market Festival. Bring on the roast pork sandwiches!
